Laser-light Green
A poem
Light - shone through emerald dishwashing liquid Sparks like an absinthe fairy hallucination Lose time in a green glitter delirium See green bottles become pears become apples become rain droplets On the car windscreen Reflecting minty traffic lights, prompting the driver to ‘go go go’ Squint until a lime starburst stretches across your vision Blink yourself sober Refresh and revive Like puddle slime in the spring time Nature is weird Eerie sci-fi alien aurora borealis Back home to bed, where plastic glow-in-the-dark stars adorn the ceiling Backlit dust on a radar-style clock screen Through the window, fireworks glint off muskmelon midori in a cut-crystal glass Flickers of engraved neon slashes flash across the walls, calling in a new year The future: a projection of matrix-style ones and zeros Across your face and down your bedsheets Green! 💚 Also trees.
